Cognithix Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Cognithix is operated by Alex Ghita ("we", "us", "our"). For privacy requests, contact us at blueflamegames@proton.me.
2. Data we collect
Parent account data
- Email address and authentication identifier
- Display name (if provided)
- Entitlement/purchase status (handled via Apple App Store)
Child profile data
- Child profile name/nickname
- Curriculum settings needed to deliver exercises
- Total points/streak fields required for core app operation
Learning/progress data sent to cloud
- Session-level aggregate results only (for example attempted count, correct count, total points, duration, timestamps, topic)
- Topic-level aggregate progress (sessions completed, average accuracy, totals)
Data kept local on device
- Mascot state (`mascotData`)
- Character customisation (`characterData`)
- Challenge state (`challengeData`)
- Wonder Trail progress (`wonderData_y*`)
- Learning-plan rationale text (for example AI rationale)
3. Data we do not upload
Cognithix does not upload per-question submitted answers as part of routine session sync. We use aggregate counts for progress features instead.
4. Why we process data
- To provide parent login and child profile management
- To deliver English, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning practice
- To track progress and unlock achievements in the app
- To support restore purchase/account continuity
5. Legal basis (UK GDPR)
- Contract (Article 6(1)(b)) to deliver the service
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for product reliability and improvement
- Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) where required by law
6. Children's privacy
Child profiles are created and controlled by a parent/guardian account. We do not knowingly allow children to create independent accounts.
7. Third-party services
- Google Firebase for authentication and secure cloud storage. More: Firebase Privacy
- Apple for app distribution and in-app purchase processing.
8. Data retention
- Account/profile data is retained while your account is active
- Upon verified deletion request, we delete account-linked cloud data
- Device-only local data can also be removed by uninstalling the app
9. Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your data.

10. Security
We use standard safeguards including authentication controls, encryption in transit, and Firestore security rules. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure.
11. International transfers
Data may be processed outside your country via our providers with contractual safeguards in place where applicable.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material updates will be reflected by the date above and, where appropriate, in-app notice.
